Not Much Green

We’ve been sitting through Tropical storm Hanna this morning.  The center went onshore around Myrtle Beach.  We actually haven’t had much rain but we’ve been having gale force winds.

I took several pictures trying to capture the wind but this is the best I could get.

The plastic chairs on my mom’s porch have been pushed by the wind to “block” our front door.

Our wind chimes are getting all tangled.

There are areas of eastern NC that are getting a lot worse conditions than we are. The radar is not showing much green where we are which means not much rain. (My apologies to those who thought this was going to be an environmental entry.)

[Why is the emergency broadcast system doing a test on television during a Tropical Storm?  When one hears that emergency blast during such conditions, we think it’s time to take shelter in the bathroom.]

We haven’t lost power, so far but there are several communities that have.  We’ve had a few blips and cable has flashed off and on but we’re still here.

Now we’re watching Ike….

(I did try to find permissions to use the images from the National Weather Service. I could not find any.  If the NWS wishes these pictures to be removed, please contact me and I will do so.)
